Swamiji disclosed that new departments would be started shortly in the BGS
Apollo Hospitals here for enlarging its medical facilities to mark the
first year anniversary of the Hospital. Nephrology, Neurosurgery,
Gastroenterology and Hepatology were these new departments, he explained.
Global standard medical services at low cost for all classes of people was
the intention of the Hospital, the Swamiji added.
He was addressing a press-meet in the Hospital premises here this morning.
Managing Director of the Hospital in Mysore Mr. Shekhar Swamy,
Somanatheshwara Swamiji, Vice president Dr. Prem Kumar and Administrator
Mr. Peter Kennedy and others were present.
Sri Balagangadharanatha Swamiji disclosed that Rs. 45 Crore had already
been spent on the Hospital project and Rs. 10 crore more was been spent
for its modernisation in the coming months. The Hospital's present
capacity of 200 beds would be doubled to meet the needs of the people, he
said.
The Hospital had well-equipped operation theatres, 24-hour ambulance
service and pharmacy apart from telemedicine service, he explained. It had
conducted free medical check-up camps in Mysore, Kodagu, Mandya and
Chamarajanagar districts in the past one year, he said. These would be
continued, he added. BGS Academy of Nursing Science had been Started, he
said.
Future plans
In the Hospital's future plans, health insurance for people from all
communities and socio-economic groups would be introduced. Senior citizens
and green card holders would be given 10 percent concession, he disclosed.
The Swamiji has extended an invitation to all to attend the function
tomorrow at 10.30 am in the Hospital premises. Apollo Hospitals Group
President Dr. Pratap C. Reddy will be the Chief guest.-MK&BRS
