Probe into KRS gate collection

Mysore, July 26- Water Resources Minister Mr. H.K. Patil today announced in the Legislative Assembly that the Principal Secretary would investigate into the alleged scandal in the gate collection at KRS.

The Minister told MLAs Mrs. Parvathamma Srikantaiah and Mr. A. Ramdas that the contractor had taken the collection rights for Rs. 3.20 crore about one-and-half years ago. Though the Government had fixed Rs. 5 per head as maximum rate of admission, he increased it to Rs. 10.

Though the contractor was to share the excess income with the Government, it was not known whether he fulfilled this condition, the Minister added.-MRS&KMS
