Maxicab hits tree, driver killed, 2 hurt

Mysore, July 19- A maxicab (KA 12 2523) with three occupants, including the driver, coming towards the city from Hunsur, lost control after the steering rod reportedly got cut and hit a roadside tree at about 7.15 this morning killing the driver.

Driver Zabi (45), resident of Hunsur, who was shifted to K.R. Hospital succumbed to injuries at about 11 am, according to Police sources.

The two other occupants were injured, with one of them, Bhaskar, 18, son of Annaji Nayak of Bilikere sustained fracture in both legs.

The third occupant, Raju, 25, son of Puttanayaka, also of Bilikere, sustained minor injuries. Both have been admitted to K.R. Hospital.

Bilikere Police have registered a case and are investigating.-MK&BRS
