Bangalore, July 20- Another Cabinet reshuffle is on the cards, before
Chief Minister Mr. S.M. Krishna leaves for US, reliable sources informed.
Mr. Krishna is likely to drop four to five Ministers and induct new
colleagues, prior to his tour to America on Aug. 29. The recent Cabinet
reshuffle had caused a flutter in Congress circles and the dissident
activities that followed due to dissatisfaction among Congress stalwarts
had reached Delhi.
Party sources disclosed that AICC(I) General Secretary Mr. Vylar Ravi who
had to visit the State to mediate had put off his visit, following an
assurance from the Chief Minister himself to set right lapses during the
on-going Assembly session.
Hence, party sources felt Mr. Krishna would most likely to go for a
reshuffle.
Incidentally, Delhi sources said Mr. Vylar Ravi is visiting Bangalore on
July 24 to assist the Chief Minister. He will also meet the dissident
leader and Water Resources Minister Mr. H.K. Patil. The sources said that
Mr. Hindasgeri, close aide of Mr. Patil, is likely to be re-inducted into
the Ministry.
Meanwhile, hectic lobbying is on by newly elected MLAs for berths in the
Krishna Cabinet. They are expected to attend a get-together to be hosted
by Mr. Krishna, party sources said.
A new challenge is in the offing for the Congress, as the JDs moves have
gained momentum.
Mr. Krishna's ambition to come to power in the next Assembly election, has
prompted him to opt for a reshuffle, sources opined.
Mr. Krishna will probably drop Ministers whose performance was not
satisfactory, sources informed.-VG
