Saraswathipuram puram underbridge to be opened on Nov. 1

Mysore, July 13- The Railway underbridge being built near Saraswathipuram fire station brigade is to be opened for traffic on November 1, the Railway officials inform. Mysoreans are going to get a gift on this year's Rajyotsava Day !

For the past couple of months the pace of construction has increased considerably. Already two of the four retaining walls on either side of the road have been completed. Work is fast progressing on the other two walls.

This bridge is being built with funds from both Centre and State and is going to cost about Rs. 1.5 crore.

When opened to traffic, this underbridge will ease the traffic flow towards Saraswathipuram, K.G. Koppal, Kuvempunagar and beyond to a large extent. Hitherto, due to the level-crossing, commuters had to wait patiently for 20 to 30 minutes when gates are closed to let a train pass. This was causing traffic congestion.-BSS
